This song was originally released on our album, "Palace Blue Room" in 2020. However, it was always intended to be sung by a female vocalist, and we found the perfect artist in Peyton Mader, who's warm tone and style is so reminiscent of the days of swing and big band. We're so pleased to have her collaboration on this one and are sure you will be too. Give it a listen, and go back in time.
lyrics
What can I say?
My heart is aching for you, day by day
Old Uncle Sam is taking you oh, so far away
To a land I’ll never know
I know it’s right
Our country needs you in this fight
Oh, darling don’t be sad
For it will be alright
Waitin' for you to come on home
Stay low, look around
I need you baby, to be safe and sound
And, if you’re feeling sad and blue
Just remember darling, I love you
I love you
Waiting for you
Waiting for you to come on home
Stay low, look around
I need you baby, to be safe and sound
And, if you’re feeling sad and blue
Just remember darling, I love you
I love you
Waiting for you
Waiting for you to come on home
Yeah, I’m waiting for you
Waiting for you to come on home
Yeah, waiting for you
Waiting for you to come on home
